Biography:
This year is coach Elyce Babcock’s second year as the Head Varsity Boys and Girls Bowling Coach. Coach Babcock was an assistant coach in the 2022/23 season. She has been coaching youth bowling for 13 years. Coach Babcock is a Grand Ledge High School (GLHS) alum, graduating in 2001, and a lifelong bowler in the Greater Lansing area. She participated on the GLHS bowling team, at the conference and club levels. She was the #2 bowler on the team her sophomore year; that team competed and won the High School State Finals in 1999. In her senior year, she competed in the singles portion of the State Finals, placing 5th. Coach Babcock was the recipient of the Michigan Women’s Bowling Association Star of Tomorrow in 2001. Following her high school bowling career, she competed in league, local, state and national bowling tournaments. Coach Babcock continues to bowl in weekly league and participates in various tournaments. Most recently, her team placed first in the 2023 and 2024 Lansing City Tournament. Coach Babcock is currently a Director on the Lansing United States Bowling Congress board, and was recently named as one of the top five women bowlers in Lansing.
