Biography:
Beth Perez is entering her 29th year coaching girls basketball, and her 7th season as the Varsity Head Coach for the Comets. Her coaching career started at her alma mater at Adrian College where she was an assistant for 2 years before moving to the Lansing area. Coach Perez started as the Freshmen coach in 1995 at Grand Ledge and then went on to coach the Varsity team at Lansing Eastern for 5 years. In 2000, Coach Perez returned to Grand Ledge and has served as the JV coach and Varsity assistant prior to taking the lead.
Beth is a teacher for the Lansing School District and is the mother of 2 sons, DJ and Derek who both played athletics at Grand Ledge. She is the widow of Dan Perez who was also a staple in and around Grand Ledge athletics for many years.
Biography:
Coach Ara Parseghian is entering his 1st year as the Head Varsity Girls Basketball
Coach at Grand Ledge High School and his 22nd season overall coaching interscholastic
basketball. He previously served as a Varsity Assistant, Junior Varsity Head Coach,
Freshman Head Coach, 7th and 8th Grade Head Coach, and Youth Basketball Head
Coach. Coach Parseghian began his coaching career as a student teacher at Owosso
Middle School. Upon becoming certified to teach, he began his teaching career and
continued his coaching career at Duluth Middle School (GA). After returning to the
Lansing Area in 2001, he coached an additional 20 years in Grand Ledge Public
Schools. Coach Parseghian is in his 26th year of teaching, 23 of which have been spent
in the Grand Ledge Public Schools. He currently teaches Chemistry and AP Chemistry
at Grand Ledge High School.
