Biography:
Grant Householder
Head Varsity Baseball Coach
Grant Householder is in his 5th season as Head Coach. In four seasons as head coach, Householder has compiled a 93-49-1 (.650) record. Householder has led the Comets to the CAAC Blue Conference, District, Regional and Diamond Classic Championships. Householder was named MHSBCA Regional Coach of the Year in 2021. Householder was previously a varsity assistant for the Comets from 2017-2019, including a stint as pitching coach in 2019.
As pitching coach in 2019, Householder guided the pitching staff to a 1.50 ERA, which ranks 17th in MHSAA history. In his time as a varsity assistant, Householder was the third base coach, pitching coach and bench coach. Householder began coaching in the Grand Ledge program in 2013 as a volunteer assistant coach. In 2014, Householder began a stint as the Junior Varsity Head Coach, filling that role for three seasons through 2016. Householder has also assisted in the Grand Ledge youth summer programs. As a member of the coaching staff, Householder has seen teams win 6 Diamond Classic Championships, 10 CAAC Blue Championships, 6 District Titles and 3 Regional Titles.
Householder, a 2010 Grand Ledge graduate, was a two year Varsity player under the legendary Coach Pat O'Keefe. Householder was named 2010 Lansing State Journal Player of the Year, earning First Team All-State and Dream Team honors.
After graduating, Householder played two seasons at Lansing Community College, before graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in Communications and a certification in Sport Coach and Leadership, before earning his teaching certification.
Householder currently works as a teacher in the Grand Ledge School district. Householder currently resides in Grand Ledge with his wife, Chelsea and their daughter, Ivy.
