Varsity Pom Claims Championship at Michigan Pom Association competition at SVSU

Posted on 02/05/2024

Grand Ledge Varsity, JV, and Middle School competed at the 2024 Michigan Pom Association (MPA) Champions at Saginaw Valley on February 4th. Teams are judged on execution, choreography, formations, kickline, timing, and showmanship. For the first time in school history, Grand Ledge Varsity took home the varsity Class A title, beating out the second place rival by 12 points and tying with Hemlock Varsity (Class C/D) for the highest score of the day.

JV pom came home with a runner up trophy and middle school placed in the top 5! Next in the agenda is the state championships at Eastern Michigan, which all three teams qualified for in January.

"This is a HUGE win for varsity as the reigning champions (Plymouth) has won this for the past few years and is actually in a higher division than us for states," coach Devan Dodge said. "We are proud of a win anytime, but beating out one of the best in the state by 12 points is extra sweet"

Congratualtions to our Comet Varsity Pom Team!
