Freshman St. Johns Review
The freshman girl’s basketball team opened up their season against St. Johns. It was a slow start to the game as both team were scoreless through the first 4 minutes of the game. The Comets broke the scoring drought and went on to lead 7-2 after the 1st quarter. In the second quarter the Lady Comets came out playing tough defense and moving the ball better on offense. Going into halftime with the lead 17-10. As for the 3rd quarter it started just like the 1st quarter with a low scoring quarter with the Comets leading 23-15 after the 3rd. The 4th quarter was full of energy and effort. It was a back and forth quarter between the two teams. With the Lady Comets coming out with the 27-24 win.
The Lady Comets were led in scoring by Braidy Abbott with 6 points. Makayla Tupper and Lauren Hanses both added 4 points each.
