The Comets received the 2nd seed in the Silver Cup after finishing 4th in the CAAC Red Division in the regular season.

In their opening match, the Comets hosted Fowlerville in a rainy match at the Community Stadium.  The Comets were more than up for the match and were able to put together one of their best offensive performances of the year.

Sophomore Camden Schuchaskie continued his great season as he scored in both halves and assisted the Comets third goal.  Fellow sophomore Matthew Davidson scored the Comets 3rd goal and assisted one of Camden's goals.  Rounding out the scoring was Freshman Luke Lundie registering an assist.  The Comets advanced with a 3-1 victory.

In the Silver Cup semifinal, the Comets faced Lansing Sexton - a team they had tied 1-1 earlier in the year.

Early on the Comets looked like they might run past Lansing Sexton as they were able to find space to attack.  The sophomore connection of Camden Schuchaskie and Matthew Davidson produced the first goal.  Camden sped past defenders on the right side of the field before slotting a pass to Matthew who made no mistake by slamming home the game's opening goal.

Sexton, however, had an answer as they found a pass behind the Comets backline and their forward calmly finished to tie the game.

Early in the 2nd half the Comets produced chance after chance, but were unable to crack the goal.  In the 71 st minute they caught a small break as a Sexton defender made a poor clearance and Camden was there to score his first goal of the game.  Late in the game the Comets were able to successfully defend a corner kick and Senior Captain Matt Jackson found a streaking Camden.  Camden did what he has done all season and calmly beat the goalkeeper for his team-leading 14 th goal of the season to seal the 3-1 victory.

The Comets travel to Okemos to play against St. Johns in the Silver Cup Final on Tuesday, October 9 at 6pm.
