After a rough start to the season, the Comets were able to put together a strong win to open their CAAC Blue campaign.

Early in the game against Waverly, the Comets established possession and started creating scoring chances.  The young trio of Brandon Witham (sophomore), Matthew Davidson (sophomore) and Luke Lundie (freshman) dominated the middle of the field with nifty passing combinations and a high work rate.  The continuous pressure was rewarded when Matthew Davidson was able to find Nathaniel Norris (sophomore) wide of the penalty box.  Nathaniel's cross was deflected into the net for the opening goal by Camden Schuchaskie (sophomore) to give the Comets the lead.  It was Camden's 4th goal of the year.

Shortly after, the Comets continued to put pressure on the Waverly goal and were rewarded again after Luke Lundie found Camden behind the Warrior defense.  Camden was able to drive towards the goal and calmly finished to give the Comets a 2-1 lead.

After a thunder delay, Waverly cut the lead in half after they powered past the Comet's defense. However, the young Comets responded immediately as Camden was able to complete his hat trick and score his 6th goal of the year with the assist going to Nolan Jolley (freshman).

Late in the game, the Comets were able to put the game out of reach as Matthew Davison scored his first career goal after Camden was able to find him on the left side of the goal.  Luke Lundie finished the scoring after he finished a cut back pass from Tomas Foldes (sophomore).

The defense was led by Zach Finney (sophomore), Austin Huckins (junior) and goalkeeper Matthew LeBlanc (sophomore).
