The Grand Ledge Varsity boys' cross country team battled the wind and rain to an impressive 5th place finish at the prestigious Greater Lansing Cross Country Championships on October 14th at Ledge Meadows Golf Course.

Sophomore Ben Rottier led the way for the Comets with a 9th place finish out of 230 athletes who participated in the race. The Comets ended the day with a score of 196 in the 32 team field. 

Scoring for Grand Ledge included freshman Nolan Lounds in 26th with a time of 17:25; junior Elijah Hutchinson in 47th place at 17:51.6; senior Ian Hinkle in 56th place at 18:00 and freshman Rylan Latchaw in 58th with a time of 18:01.

Grand Ledge will be back at Ledge Meadows on Thursday for the CAAC Blue Championship Meet set to begin at 4:00 p.m.
