The 2021 Grand Ledge Varsity Football team has been recognized as a Division 1 Academic All State team for 2021.

This prestigious award is given out to the 4 teams in Division 1 (65 schools) with the highest cumulative team GPA. This team GPA is calculated by averaging the top 11 scholar-athletes on our team. The Comet varsity football team GPA was a 3.97 unweighted!

"I want to thank all of our teachers, counselors and administration for all of their high quality instruction and support that helped our student-athletes to receive such a tremendous award," said Grand Ledge varsity football coach Joe Brya. "We will be receiving a banner recognizing this outstanding achievement in January that we will proudly display at the stadium next season."

Earning Academic All-State Individual Honors were Austin Blackwell, Jackson Raymond, Ethan McCartney, Nathan Edlin, Jack Kelly, Reese Cordahl, Colson Currie and Brendan Hocquard. 

Grand Ledge finished the 2021 regular season with a 6-3 record and qualified for the Division I Playoffs.
