Grand Ledge freshman Carter Housler qualfied for the MHSAA Division I State Finals after posting a low round of 73 at the Regional Meet held on May 31st at Davison Country Club.
Carter's score tied for the best overall individual score out of the 90 golfers that competed in the regional.
The Comets nearly qualified as a team to the state finals, missing out on placing in the top three by one stroke. Grand Ledge ended the day with a score of 331, one back of earning the right to travel to the championship meet.
Carter's performance led a great team effort. Junior Nate Lonier scored a solid round of 84 followed by fellow junior Bobby Rao who carded a 86. Seniors Noah Housler and Kyle Beachnau finished their rounds with scores of 88 and 89 respectively.
Up next for Carter is the MHSAA State Championship meet at The Fortress in Frankenmuth on June 7th and June 8th.
Congratulations to Carter and the rest of the Comet varsity boys' golf team on a game season!
