Comets Claim 2025 CAAC Blue League Championship!

The Grand Ledge Varsity Country teams are the CAAC Blue Conference Champions! This is the first Conference Championship for the Boys since 2013, ending the drought at the league meet held at Ledge Meadows on October 16th. The Varsity Boys squad finished with 38 points to Okemos' 67 points, leaving us with a decisive victory. All-Conference Designees were: Rylen Richey-1st Team Caelan Marsh-1st Team Alex McKennon-2nd Team Nolan Lounds-2nd Team Ben Rottier-2nd Team Dayton Vandermoere-Honorable Mention Final Varsity Scores were: 1. Grand Ledge-38 2. Okemos-67 3. East Lansing-72 4. DeWitt-79 5. Holt-101 6. Lansing Waverly-180 7. Lansing Everett-194 On the Junior Varsity side, the boys finished with 24 points to DeWitt's 52, more than cutting their score in half! Micah Couser was the Junior Varsity Champion with a time of 17:23, nearly 90 seconds faster than he ran at this time last year. In general, the course did not run fast today, but even so William Drake ran a Seasonal Record, and Jackson Harlow, Landon Humphrey, Marshall Kopietz, Tristian Rogers, and Owen Rottiers all ran Lifetime Personal Records today! Final JV Scores were: 1. Grand Ledge-24 2. DeWitt-52 3. Okemos-59 4. East Lansing-111 5. Holt-142 6. Lansing Waverly-182 7. Lansing Waverly-215 Next week, our Junior Varsity athletes will close out their season competing for a win at the James Clyde Invitational on Tuesday, hosted by Waverly at Grand Woods Park. The Varsity squad is looking ahead to the MHSAA Regional on Friday, October 23rd hosted by DeWitt, where we will look to bring home a MHSAA Regional title and earn at team spot at the MHSAA State Finals, hosted on November 1st at Michigan International Speedway.
