First Place Finish for Boys' Cross Country at the CAAC Blue Jamboree

In the Varsity race (Results), our scoring 5 (Ben Rottier, Rylen Richey, Caelan Marsh, Alex McKennon, and Nolan Lounds) finished in 3rd, 4th, 5th, 10th, and 12th places out of a field of 61 runners! Caelan ran a lifetime personal record of 16:35.6 in the 5K with an incredibly patient and strategic race, gradually working his way up from the pack to 12th place to 5th place by the end of the race. Noah Heriford, also in the varsity race, also ran a lifetime PR today of 18:25.0! Finals scores for the Varsity race were: 1 Grand Ledge-34 2 DeWitt-66 3 East Lansing-74 4 Okemos-81 5 Holt-91 6 Lansing Waverly-190 7 Lansing Everett-206 In the Junior Varsity race (Results), William Drake had a challenging path, running solo and in the lead for almost the entirety of the race for a first place finish. Fisher Lipsey, Ethan Bussis, Colin Bancroft, and Jackson Harlow rounded out our scoring lineup for the Junior Varsity competition in 4th, 5th, 6th, and 8th places! Final scores for the Junior Varsity race were: 1 Grand Ledge-24 2 Okemos-56 3 DeWitt-66 4 East Lansing-110 5 Holt-137 6 Lansing Waverly-177 7 Lansing Everett-201 Looking ahead, we travel to the Shepherd Bluejay Invitational on September 27th, one of the largest meets in the state, to stack ourselves up against the best of the best from all divisions in the "Elite" race. This will be our last meet of the first half of the season, before a 2 week break from competition that leads into the championship meet season, where we will contend for Greater Lansing, CAAC Blue Conference, Regional, and MHSAA level honors.
