The girls cross country team placed 3rd at the prestigious Averill Invite hosted by Milford HS at Kensington Metro Park in Milford. The girls were led by a strong 5th place finish by Avi Skinner and a 14th place finish from freshman Ava Montero. Seniors Madison Aten and Elsa Gomez were third and fourth for the Comets with 27th and 28th place respectively. Freshman Kinsley Lounds was 5th for the Comets and fellow freshmen Paige Thelen and Sadie Nelson were 6th and 7th for the Comets. All three freshmen were in the top half of the race. Four Comets ran lifetime PR's on the toughest course they'll encounter all season. Ava Montero, Sadie Nelson, Olivia James and LauraLynn Robinson all ran their fastest times ever on a very challenging course. 6 other Comets ran seasonal PR's as well, capping off a successful day of racing.
