The Boys Cross Country program had a dominant showing at the first CAAC Blue Jamboree of the season, hosted at the East Lansing Soccer Complex. In the varsity race, the boys made a clear statement, scoring a mere 28 points, decisively ahead of runner's-up East Lansing, who scored 57 points. Rylen Richey and Caelan Marsh finished in under 16 minutes in 1st and 2nd place, with the remaining 3 of our scoring line-up finishing in the Top-11 of the race in under 17 minutes. Our Junior Varsity boys crew also won their race, scoring 25 points to DeWitt's 32 points for victory. Despite the soft ground and unexpected humidity, Nicholas Whited, William Drake, and Andrew Soltow all ran season best times yesterday, while Bennett Myers achieved a Lifetime Personal Record yesterday at East Lansing. Last night was a promising first step towards our overall team goal of a 2nd consecutive CAAC Blue Championship; this Jamboree counts for 1/3 of the overall Conference Title, with the Championship being finally decided at Ledge Meadows Golf Course in the CAAC Blue Championship meet on October 22. On Saturday, October 3, we will head to Shepherd for the Bluejay Invitational to again face off against some of the best competition in the state, before we take some time off to prepare for the October 17th Greater Lansing Invitational and the championship portion of the season.
