Well as the leaves change the fall approaches and the Girls Golf season winds down, with the treat of cold, wind and rain predicted the Lady Comets went to Hartland on Wednesday, October 10th riding the momentum wave hoping to qualify for the State Final.
The girls played well, but when the scores were tallied GL just did not shoot low enough to qualify and finished 6th in the Region. There is a sliver lining from the competition. While the team did not play well enough Vienne Sereseroz did play her way into the State Finals as an individual and will represent Grand Ledge at Bedford Valley next Friday and Saturday.
Vienne played an average front nine hole and knowing she needed a special back nine she did just that firing a very nice 39 to finish at 83. She finished tied for 6th overall, just two shots out of making the All Regional Team!
"We are very proud of Vienne and the way she has played, not just in this event, throughout the entire year," Comet coach Jeff Miller said. "She has shown all of Lansing what we already knew - that is she is one of the top players in the area now she gets her chance to display her talents the State Finals. What a way to cap off a brilliant season."
Great job Vienne!
