Grand Ledge senior Brady Riggs ended his very successful wrestling season with a 5th place finish at the MHSAA State Finals!
Riggs entered 285 pound championship tournament at Ford Field with an impressive 46-2 season record. Brady won his opening match before falling to the eventual state runner up in the quarterfinals.
In the wrestle back Brady scored a win with a quick pin and then followed that up with a 7-4 victory. He lost a very close 3-2 match before scoring a 8-2 victory in his final match of the year to secure 5th place.
Teammates Tommy Lear and Garrett Kroslewski also qualifed for the state finals and wrestled very well at Ford Field.
Tommy went 1-2 on the tournament, losing a very tough 5-4 match to fall just short of the placing all-state as a junior at 130 pounds. Tommy finished the season with a 44-9 record.
Garrett also went 1-2 on the day to cap a great senior season which featured an overall record of 32-16 at 171 pounds.
